British band the Psychedelic Furs was riding a wave of commercial Success brought on by Book of Days and the re-use of an earlier single as the title song for recently released film Pretty in Pink when they headlined at the Berkeley Community Theatre on New Year's, 1989. The Furs was joined by one-album wonder, East of Eden, a Boston pop quintet.
