In addition, we guarantee your order against damage that may occur during the shipping process. If your package arrives damaged you should refuse delivery and contact us immediately so that we may begin a damage claim with the shipping carrier. You can get in touch with us by visiting the Contact Us page on this website or by calling us at (775) 386-6649.

To return or exchange an item, you must contact us within 10 days of receiving your shipment. We will give you an RA (Return Authorization) number. We recommend you re-use the original packaging materials and that you insure the shipment for your protection. You are responsible for all return shipping costs. COD shipments will not be accepted. We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages and recommend using a courier that can track your package with a tracking number. Items returned for credit must be in the same condition as they were when shipped by Wolfgang's. Subsequent to inspection, a refund can take up to 30 days. Wolfgang's cannot process refunds after 60 days of your original order, so please send returns as soon as the RA number is provided. I am a Wolfgang's Music member but Sonos won't let me add the Wolfgang's Music service to my Sonos system.

Adding the Wolfgang's Music service to your Sonos system should be easy. If you have a problem, check to make sure you are using the same email address that you used to purchase your Wolfgang's Music Membership. We hear frequently from members who purchased their membership with one email address, then try to add Wolfgang's Music to their Sonos system with a different email address - which definitely will not work.

Poster Questions and Answers

Authenticity

Every item in Wolfgang’s is a documented original, unless otherwise noted. We have acquired each item from its original artist, the production company that staged the concert, the photographer that took the photograph or the performer that played the music. In some cases, we have purchased from the secondary market only after carefully verifying authenticity and condition. The vast majority of our collection comes from the archives of Bill Graham Presents, which was carefully managed by BGP from 1966 until our acquisition, and is now managed and preserved by Wolfgang’s. Upon request, we offer Certificates of Provenance signed by the archivist.

I have seen posters on your website offered for less. Why should I buy from you?

We own the copyright to posters in the BG (Bill Graham), BGP (Bill Graham Presents), F (Fillmore), BGSE (Bill Graham Special Events), FME (Fillmore East), FDN (Fillmore Denver), as well as many other individual posters not in these series. We know what is authentic and what is bootlegged or copied because we own the original negatives and/or printers' plates from which the original posters were printed. Our website presents and sells ONLY original, authentic posters and other concert art.

Outside of our own copyrighted art, we've assembled a superb collection of other original and historic posters from series and venues across the globe, being cared for in state-of-the-art facilities. The provenance of each acquisition is impeccable; the due diligence of each item's heritage – second to none.

We have observed copied, bootlegged and poor-condition concert art sold in many online stores or auctions. We strongly encourage those who wish to purchase concert art from the 1960's thru today to come to our site because we, and only we, can guarantee the authenticity and condition of items we sell to buyers, a guarantee which comes in most handy when a buyer subsequently wishes to sell their concert memorabilia.

Our archivists and customer service representatives are available to answer any questions before or after purchase and we offer a return policy if, for any reason, you are less than delighted with your purchase (domestic orders only).

Poster, Ticket and Handbill Printings and Variations

Most 2nd and 3rd printings pertain to posters from the BG (Bill Graham poster series of 1966-71) and the FD (Family Dog poster series of the same time period). Once promoters realized that psychedelic art "collectors" were tearing down the posters advertising their concerts, additional printings had to be run in order to market the shows. Later versions of the posters were sometimes printed for hippie poster shops or to satisfy the poster artist with a changing artistic vision. Most poster printings have very slight variations such as paper stock and size, small notation markings on the poster or different ink colors. Within individual printings, some nuances may occur during the course of a print run such as a change of paper stock or ink. These variations are indicated by the notations of A, B or C. Whenever these differences are significant we always present separate images of these printings on our website.

Is there a difference in quality between 1st and subsequent printings?

"Quality" is a subjective term. As noted in the previous paragraph, different poster printings may be on different paper stock, which one might consider a difference in "quality". You can be certain of one thing; all posters in Wolfgang’s, regardless of printing, are in near mint condition unless otherwise noted.

What is the difference between a proof and a poster?

A proof is a "test" of the final printing process by the printer to make certain that the four color image is rendering exactly as the artist intended. The final proofs we have available at Wolfgang’s are the final step in this process and rare in number. They usually have a color bar along one side of the paper's edge. This should be visible in the image detail for the item.

Will you give me a valuation of my poster collection?

We do not offer valuations for insurance or other purposes.

Condition of Product

All items in Wolfgang's are in new or near mint condition unless otherwise specified. If an item has any condition flaws, a customer service representative will be in touch to describe the condition before the order is shipped. Items being sold by third parties will have a condition listed. A small number of items that were part of Bill Graham's personal collection show some damage from the May 7, 1985 firebombing of his San Francisco office. The attack stemmed from Graham’s open and honest criticism of President Reagan’s visit to Bitburg Cemetery published in the San Francisco Chronicle. We have made every effort to show the extent of the damage on each product in the product detail screen image and will contact you by email or phone should remaining inventory not reflect that condition.

If for some reason the item you purchased does not meet your expectations, you may return it (domestic orders only). Please refer to our Returns and Exchanges policy.

Caring for your collection

  • Poster Framing - To best protect your vintage rock poster, it is best to frame your poster with a UV glass or plexiglass protective covering to keep it from fading. It's also a good idea to keep it out of harsh or direct sunlight. Your framer should use only acid free archival products (paper, board or tape) to frame the piece.
  • Poster Storage - Many poster experts recommend that only Mylar (or its equivalent) is "archive safe" for poster storage. Plastics, vinyl, and other storage materials slowly oxidize, releasing harmful acids, which slowly disintegrate paper. Mylar-D is a storage material specifically developed for the long-term storage of historically important documents. It is the same archival material in which the Declaration of Independence and the Magna Carta are stored and is used by leading museums worldwide. While other materials may not begin to noticeably damage your posters for 2, 3, or even 5 years, Mylar D is considered completely inert for up to 400 years. A simple internet search will garner many leads for acquiring Mylar sleeves.

Advanced Browsing Tips

Some of our visitors would like to narrow their searches down more finely than our on-site filters allow. If you are adventurous this can be done by modifying the page URL in your browser's address bar. This is most frequently requested in our Posters department, so we will give examples for that here.

Filters are simply URL extensions, and they can be used in combination. There are four filter types:

  • fd (product type)
    • 1=posters
    • 2=serigraphs
    • 3=proofs
    • 17=handbills
    • 30=tickets
  • fdec (decade)
    • 1950, 1960, 1970, etc
  • fpr (price range)
    • 1=under $25
    • 2=$25-50
    • 3=$50-100
    • 4=$100-500
    • 5=$500-1,000
    • 6=over $1,000
  • fet (event type)
    • ART (Art)
    • DAN (Dance)
    • FIL (Film)
    • MUS (Music)

To use a single filter, add the filter value preceded by a question mark to the Posters Department URL (https://www.wolfgangs.com/posters/). If you want to specify multiple values for a single filter, separate them by vertical bars "|". If you want to use multiple filters, separate them with an "&". For example:

  1. Start with a browse to the posters department: https://www.wolfgangs.com/posters/
  2. To get only Posters (no Handbills or Serigraphs or other product types): https://www.wolfgangs.com/posters/?fd=1
  3. To get Posters AND Proofs: https://www.wolfgangs.com/posters/?fd=1|3
  4. To get #3 but only between $500 and $1,000: https://www.wolfgangs.com/posters/?fd=1|3&fpr=5
  5. To get #4 but only MUSIC Posters: https://www.wolfgangs.com/posters/?fd=1|3&fpr=5&fet=MUS
  6. To get #5 but only from the 1970s: https://www.wolfgangs.com/posters/?fd=1|3&fpr=5&fet=MUS&fdec=1970

Photography Questions and Answers

All images on this site are copyrighted.

Photographic prints sold through Wolfgang’s are intended for private use only. Your purchase of photographic print(s) does not convey any rights with respect to the copyright of the image. Reproduction, publishing, posting, broadcasting, transmitting, or distribution of any purchased photographic print(s), in any commercial or editorial manner, is strictly prohibited.

What are the different categories of photographs that I see on your site?

Fine Art Prints are the highest quality photographic prints in Wolfgang’s. We present the work of many of the greatest concert photographers of our times - Baron Wolman, Michael Zagaris, Joseph Sia, Gene Anthony, Philip Melnick, John Maginnis, Bob Sheridan, and Jim Marshall. Also included is an exceptional collection of rock concert photography created by the staff photographers of Bill Graham Presents from the early 1970s to the early 2000s. Unless otherwise noted these are RC prints that we print to order, scanned from original negatives using industry-best professional scanners, and print to exacting standards on Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper using Canon PRO-4000 Large Format Inkjet Printers to produce vivid, lifelike images that rival those of traditional silver gelatin prints with a high D-Max for true photographic reproductions.

Vintage Prints are original prints from these same photographers, but typically printed and processed within one year of the original negative. Each of these prints is a slice-of-life view of the rock concert phenomenon. The subtle signs of aging in some of these prints only add to their veracity. The print varieties represent a range from the rarest-of-rare Dye Transfers, to Silver Gelatin, to RC prints. The slight yellowing of a Silver Gelatin print and almost imperceptible loss of true color in color prints are the gentle patina born of age that help make these in-concert shots, portraits, and backstage candids of early rockers and their milieu so outstanding.

Promo Prints were part of the press kits handed out to the media as advance advertising for concert tours and record releases. Some of these pictures may be familiar to aficionados who remember them from magazines or advertising appearing around the time of specific record releases. Many, however, are never-before-seen shots that will thrill the true fan. The Promo Prints in Wolfgang’s collection hail from the ‘60s through the new century and are truly exceptional portraits of contemporary performers and legends.

How long will it take for my print to arrive?

Our fine art prints are produced to order and require a high degree of printmaking skill and attention to detail. Please allow up to 12 business days to ship after your order is placed.

Vintage and Promo Prints are already in stock and should ship within three business days of when your order is placed. Please note that Fine Art Prints will be subject to a 10% restocking fee if returned.

Do you license images from Wolfgang’s for other uses?

We license the use of our Fine Art images to television, film, and other agencies for advertising or other purposes. Please contact our Licensing Department for more information about this opportunity.

If I’d like a photograph of an artist that I don’t see listed, is it possible you might have one that is not yet online?

The photographs available at this time are those that we consider to be the very best of the entire collection. Please let us know via the “Contact Us” page or by phone at 775-386-6649 if your favorite artist is not represented. We will consider all requests as we continue to add photographs to the website.

Are there other sizes available for Fine Art prints?

Our standard sizes are listed on our website for all Fine Art Prints. Should you wish to order a larger print size, simply contact us, and we will work with you to customize a print based on your needs.

How should I care for my photograph from Wolfgang’s?

To ensure the longevity of your photograph, it is best to frame your print with archival matting material and UV-filtering glass or Lucite. It is also a good idea to keep your print out of harsh or direct sunlight.

Clothing Questions and Answers

What is Vintage Clothing?

At Wolfgang's, Vintage Clothing is defined as a garment created for and made at the time of a particular event or performance.

Our Clothing is made from a vintage design and was produced subsequent to the original event or concert. Our Clothing is made using the finest jersey cotton giving you the softest, smoothest t-shirt around. The majority of our shirts are 100% cotton, with a few exceptions being a cotton-synthetic blend.

Do you have sizing charts for your clothing?

We have sizing charts for Clothing, but not for Vintage Clothing. Scroll down to see these sizing charts. Please be aware, that every fabric lot and dye can produce slightly different sizing results and that the sizing charts provided are general descriptions.

Why Don't You Post Vintage Clothing Measurements?

We do not give size dimensions specifically as each year and manufacturer brings style and sizing variations. Our Vintage Clothing was produced at the time of the event or concert with which it is associated. True to the era, Vintage clothing tends to be smaller in size (1 to 2 sizes smaller) than clothing produced today and may show the effect of 20 or more years of storage. All non-vintage clothing adhere to current USA standards of size.

How should I care for my t-shirt?

We recommend that you machine wash t-shirts in cold water and tumble dry on a low setting.

The following table outlines the measurements of our Non-Vintage Clothing.

On May 1, 2018 all active Concert Vault members were converted to Wolfgang's Music members, and we closed the Concert Vault site at concertvault.com. Yes, they were transferred over when we converted your Concert Vault membership to a Wolfgang's Music membership.

Yes, but you will need to remove the Concert Vault music service from your Sonos system and then add the Wolfgang's Music service.

Will my new Wolfgang's Music membership renew as my Concert Vault membership did?

Yes. The price remains the same as it was for you on Concert Vault, and it will renew on your anniversary if you have not canceled its auto-renewal.
