Occasionally, you'll just give yourself permission to wander. You won't even know you're doing it, even if you know why you're doing it. You'll be searching for something that feels like it should be had, as if it were yours all along, and yet, you wouldn't recognize it if you saw it. It could be standing right in front of you and you'll just blink. It will add up to a lot of blinks, too many for any of it to feel comfortable, but you'll keep looking, keep wandering and you will feel that you've accomplished what you set out to accomplish.
Annie Lynch of Annie and the Beekeepers makes the kind of music that leads you to those lakes where you scare the bejesus out of the lone doe slurping water from the edge. She creates the feel of walking through a dark yard at night, with the old, rusty windmill creaking out a revolution.
