"Pigpen" McKernan - vocals; Bob Weir - guitar, vocals; Phil Lesh - bass; Tom Constanten - keyboards; Bill Kreutzmann - drums; Mickey Hart - drums; Jerry Garcia - vocals, guitar
This is a very unusual Grateful Dead show. During the entire first set, Garcia is nowhere to be found. According to biographer/publicist Dennis McNally, there was a 1969 Dead show at the Fillmore West where Jerry Garcia was too dosed to play, and it's speculated that this could be the one. Elvin Bishop and vocalist Wayne Ceballos from the band AUM sat in on the first set in place of Garcia
Following sets by Junior Walker and Glass Family, Jerry Garcia is back for the Dead's second set. This set features nothing more than a monumentally long version of "Turn On Your Lovelight," clocking in at almost 47 minutes. This is the longest version known to exist, and the Dead really explores the song with some serious extended jamming.
