After an action-packed week of nights on the Barnstormer 4 tour, the day after brought this recording of the mesmerizing Sondre Lerche and his not as new band, made up of bassist David Hartley (of The War On Drugs and Nightlands) and drummer Dave Heilman (of Fancy Colors and fresh off a stint playing the house band for the production of "American Idiot" on Broadway). Undeniably sharp and incredibly spirited for just a handful of shows together, this session is the very argument to be made for the genius of Lerche as a true master. Hands and toes finally thawed out, he put on one more awe-inspiring performance before heading home and away from the Midwestern barns.
