In their own ways (the earnest forthrightness of Pete Seeger and Jackson Browne, the disbelieving sarcasm of The Kinks and Randy Newman, the dance-inducing chants of Tower of Power and The Chambers Brothers, the challenging power of Ozzy and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, or the quiet meditation of the Paul Winter Consort), these artists have used their influence to spread the message of saving our planet under the clever guise of enjoyable music. Earth Day is a perfect time to remind yourself that pollution, the extinction of species, and the irresponsible use of non-renewable energy sources are...wait for it...BAD! But it's something that we should be thinking about all year long and so we hope some of these tunes get stuck in your head until next April (at least). Thanks to everyone who helps preserve our planet for future generations (and to Ray Davies for being so hilarious).
