The SFMT hadn't a large, suitable home and performed the latest in its mid-summer productions of 'The Minstrel Show' at The Committee, an improv theatre on Broadway. At the time of this production, director Ronnie Davis was mounting an elaborate production of 'Il Candelaio' in Lafayette Park, and anticipating, not without enthusiasm, a challenge of the public obscenity statutes.
