Eight nights of music in late Spring; BG275 advertised three different concerts at the Fillmore West and Winterland. Eric Burdon appeared with a new band, War, and Santana's logo enjoyed a second childhood as Puss 'n Boots. Santana, by now a big area draw, played at Winterland. Singer's lettering had evolved from the strictly linear style of BG179 to this filled-in look.
The large handbill was only printed once before the concert. It presents a calendar of upcoming Bill Graham events on the left hand side of the reverse and measures 7" x 9 1/4".
During his Fillmore era, from 1969-1971, Singer created more posters for Graham than any other artist. Singer's posters are notable for his use of collage, incorporating thousands of images clipped from magazines spanning several decades. He developed a format that included a stunning variety of lettering styles, applying them in close relation to the theme or subject of a poster.
