King Biscuit Flower Hour brought live rock concert recordings to radio listeners across the US in its weekly broadcasts Sunday nights. The first show hit the airwaves February 18, 1973 and featured Blood, Sweat & Tears, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Bruce Springsteen. While new programming ended in 1993, the show continued to broadcast until 2007.
King Biscuit Flower Hour Records was formed in 1992 with the intention of releasing live albums from the archived recordings.
