Two cult favorites, Primus and Mr. Bungle, rang in 1993 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Grove Street. Mr. Bungle, a relatively young band that took its name from a Pee Wee Herman hard-luck character, had just finished a tour that capitalized on their successful album of the same name released in 1991. Mike Patton, Mr. Bungle's vocalist, left the band after the tour, and the group wouldn't reassemble for another album until almost four years later.
